Process automation for everything still done by hand.

Process automation at ralwo means: values that are retyped today between PLC, MES, ERP and Excel travel through an interface. Reports assembled by hand every Friday are produced by a scheduled job. Your team checks and decides – the software handles the routine. We start with one process.

Workflow automation for the tasks that cost you time today.

In many industrial companies the same manual steps repeat every day: the shift supervisor copies piece counts from the MES into an Excel sheet, maintenance types meter readings from the plant into the ERP, sales keys order lines from PDF purchase orders into the inventory system. Process automation replaces these transfers with software that connects the systems directly, validates the data and runs tasks at a defined time. The result is fewer transcription errors, figures you can rely on and staff who have their time back for the work they were hired to do.

Automating business processes with software does not mean rebuilding your operation. We start with the process that costs the most time or fails most often and digitise it step by step: connect the data source first, then define the rules, then let the workflow run without manual work. Decisions stay with your people – the software prepares, checks and notifies. What proves itself is carried over to the next process. ralwo is a young company based in Schwerin, Germany, and works in small, traceable steps with clear acceptance criteria.

What you get

What process automation actually delivers.

Four outcomes you can verify process by process – without a platform and without rebuilding your operation.

  • Interfaces instead of retyping

We connect the systems between which people transfer values today: PLCs and controllers via OPC UA or the S7 protocol, MES and ERP via their interfaces, Excel sheets and PDF documents via import and text recognition. A meter reading, a piece count or an order number is captured once and is then available wherever it is needed.
  • Recurring tasks completed automatically

The weekly report for management, the reconciliation of order confirmations, the reminder for the maintenance interval: tasks like these run as scheduled jobs at a defined time. The software gathers the data, produces the document and files or sends it – without anyone staying late on a Friday to do it.
  • Validation and notifications built into the workflow

Every automated step checks its data before passing it on: mandatory fields, value ranges, plausibility against the previous day. If something deviates, a notification goes to the person responsible – by e-mail, in the dashboard or as a task in the system. Errors surface when they occur, not at stocktaking.
  • Traceability instead of gut feeling

Every run is logged: which data came from where, what was checked, what became of it and who approved an exception. A maintenance technician can trace a value back to its source; management can see whether the process runs as agreed. Decisions stay with people – the software makes them traceable.
How we work

From the first process to automation in daily use.

Three steps, as in every ralwo project – applied here to a single workflow you want to automate.

  1. 01 Initial consultation: understanding the workflow

    approx. 30 min

In a free conversation of around 30 minutes you describe the workflow that is done by hand today: who transfers what from where to where, how often, and what goes wrong along the way. We tell you plainly whether automation is worthwhile and what it would take.

  2. 02 Concept: defining data flow and rules

    1–2 weeks

We map the workflow, name data sources and targets, define validation rules and responsibilities and clarify which interfaces your systems offer. You receive a concept with an effort estimate and a quotation – at a fixed price where the scope is clear.

  3. 03 Implementation and operation: one process at a time

    2-week cycles

We implement the first process, run it in parallel with the existing way of working for a while and compare the results. Only then do we switch over. After that we operate the automation for you if you wish, and turn to the next workflow.

Is this for you

A good fit if …

  • your staff regularly transfer values from one system into another.
  • shift, weekly or monthly reports are assembled by hand from several sources.
  • order or machine data travels between departments on paper or as PDFs.
  • errors surface late because nobody can check every single transfer.
Questions

Frequently asked questions.

A reconciliation between two systems with an existing interface is manageable; a workflow with PDF recognition and several approval steps needs considerably more. In between, three things decide: how many systems are involved, whether they have a documented interface or one has to be built first, and how many exceptions the workflow has. After the initial consultation we give you a range; after the concept, a fixed price or a budget per cycle.

The concept for one workflow is usually ready after one to two weeks. Implementation runs in two-week cycles; we plan for the first process to be live after four to eight weeks – including a phase in which the old and the new way run side by side. It takes longer when interfaces have to be built first or when your IT needs more lead time for access and approvals. We clarify both up front.

The workflow stops rather than passing on wrong data. Every automated step first checks whether its source is reachable and whether the data matches the expected format; if a system is down, the run stays open and the person responsible receives a notification with time and cause. Once the source is back, the software catches up on the missed runs. If a system changes – an ERP update, a new controller – only that one connector is adapted; rules, checks and the rest of the workflow stay as they are.

Initially just the workflow itself, as it is actually practised today – a sketch is fine, or the Excel file it produces. For implementation we then need access to the systems involved: an interface or an export from ERP and MES, access to controller data via OPC UA or S7, sample PDFs if documents are to be read. A data infrastructure of your own is not a prerequisite; a server at your plant or in the EU is enough to begin with.

Through rules you define and logs you can inspect. Every automated step validates its data; anything outside the agreed limits is not processed silently but presented to the person responsible. Every run is logged and can be traced back to its source. At the start, the new way runs in parallel with the old one until your figures match. And you can pause any process at any time – without having to call us.
