Custom software and AI for manufacturing.

ralwo develops software and AI solutions for manufacturing and mid-sized businesses – custom software solutions that fit the way you work. We digitise processes, automate recurring tasks and make machine and plant data visible. We consult first, then we build exactly what your operation needs.

Starting point3 findings

The data is there. We make it visible.

Most operations do not lack data – they lack access to it: machine and plant data, technical documents, process figures. Three situations that occur in many plants, and the building block that helps in each case.

  • Technical documents in PDFs and folders

Maintenance manuals, datasheets and inspection reports sit as PDFs in the DMS, on network drives or in the binder next to the machine. Anyone looking for a torque value or a service interval leafs through pages – or asks the colleague who knows. ralwo DocIntel reads these documents, extracts values with source and confidence, and answers questions directly from the text.
  • Machine data in silos

PLC, SCADA and MES record values every second – temperatures, vibration, pressures, piece counts. They are usually analysed only after something has failed: in Excel, with delay and without context. ralwo PlantPulse brings the signals together via OPC UA, visualises the machine data in one dashboard, shows OEE and availability live and reports deviations with an explanation before they become a fault.
  • Processes with invisible bottlenecks

Between goods receipt and dispatch, waiting times build up that nobody measures: semi-finished parts queue in front of quality inspection, batch sizes do not match the shift, and the shop-floor data shows piece counts but no queue times. ralwo FlowOptimizer maps the process chain, measures throughput and lead time per station and shows which intervention resolves the bottleneck – with before-and-after figures.

Custom software development: consult first, then build.

Four areas, one point of contact: software for businesses that fits the way you work – from the first analysis through development to ongoing operation in the EU or at your plant.

  • Custom software development

Software that fits the way you work – connected to PLC, OPC UA, MES and ERP rather than built alongside them.

Approach

From the initial consultation to operation.

Four phases with clear time frames. After each phase you decide whether and how to continue.

  1. 01 Free initial consultation

    approx. 30 min

We clarify goals, data situation and feasibility – by phone or video call.

    • Goals and the question at hand
    • Data situation and existing systems
    • Feasibility and next steps
  2. 02 Analysis & concept

    1–2 weeks

We review your data sources, design the architecture and submit a proposal.

    • Data sources and interfaces
    • Architecture and data flow
    • Proposal at a fixed price or time and materials
  3. 03 Implementation

    2-week cycles

We develop in short cycles, integrate with your existing systems and test with your data.

    • Integration with PLC, MES and ERP
    • Tests with your data
    • Acceptance after every cycle
  4. 04 Operation & development

    ongoing

We run the solution if you wish, and develop it further together with your operation.

    • Monitoring and maintenance
    • Support and training
    • Further development as required

Every phase ends with a decision that you make.

Principles

What you can rely on.

  • Data sovereignty

GDPR-compliant processing in the EU, on-premise at your plant on request. Your data stays your data.
  • Integration, not an island

We connect to what is already there: OPC UA, PLC, MES/ERP and PDF archives.
  • Explainable AI

Every extraction and every anomaly comes with its source and a confidence score. You see why the system suggests something.
  • Measurable results

KPIs are agreed before the project and measured afterwards – before and after.
  • One point of contact

German-speaking, based in Schwerin, from the first conversation to operation.
  • From idea to operation

Concept, development and operation from one team – no handover to third parties.
Fields of application

Where digital solutions for industry begin.

Nine industries we develop for, and four typical first projects. Each one starts where your machine and plant data is today.

Frequently asked questions about custom software and AI.

What businesses typically want to know before a first conversation – from how a quotation comes about to how we handle your data. What each service costs and how it runs is answered on its own service page.

Through a free initial consultation of about 30 minutes – by phone or video, with no obligation – and a concept that follows it, with architecture, effort and a quotation, fixed price or time and materials. We do not quote flat rates without a concept. After the concept you decide whether and how to proceed.

In the EU. Our systems run with hosting providers whose servers are located in Germany or the EU, GDPR-compliant and under a data processing agreement. On request we run the solution entirely at your plant.

No. Every ralwo solution can run on-premise at your plant – on your hardware, in your network, without any outbound connection. Whether cloud, data centre or plant is the right place is a decision we take together, based on your requirements for security, latency and operation.

Before we review your documents we sign a non-disclosure agreement. Documents are processed exclusively in the EU and access is restricted to the project team. We do not train models on your data – it is used solely for the analysis in your project.

No. We connect to what is already there: PLCs and controllers via OPC UA, SCADA, MES and ERP via their interfaces, databases, Excel lists and documents from a DMS or network drives. Your systems keep running unchanged; the data is consolidated alongside them and shown in a dashboard or inside your existing software.

For a first project the existing data sources – a controller with OPC UA or an MES export, say – plus a server or cloud access are usually sufficient. Anything beyond that, a time-series store for example, is planned in the concept phase and built up step by step.

The analysis and concept phase takes one to two weeks. Implementation runs in two-week cycles; we plan for a first usable version after four to eight weeks. The exact scope follows from the concept and is agreed in advance.

With one concrete use case rather than a strategy for everything. We look at your processes and check where AI genuinely helps – and where simple automation is enough. Then we start with a small pilot project: one machine, one line or one set of documents. We define the success criteria beforehand, and after the pilot you decide on the next step.
